XIX CAPALBIO CINEMA EDITION'S AWARDS:

GRAN PRIX GOES TO TABOULE', BY SPANISH DIRECTOR RICHARD GARCIA

XIX Capalbio Cinema edition has just ended with the announcement of winners at the awards ceremony. The Festival, directed by Tommaso Mottola, has been promoting Italian and international shorts for 19 years. This time it was held from 28th to 31st December 2012, in the beautiful and unusual setting of New Year's Eve.

Capalbio Cinema 2012 Best Film Award goes to: Taboulè by Richard Garcia. Members of the jury were: actress Anita Kravos, designer Allegra Hicks, Rossana Rummo manager of MiBAC, Antonio Gnoli journalist, Roberto Perpignani editor, Luciana Castellina politician and writer, Eileen Tasca producer.Taboulè also won Technovision Prize, Technicolor Prize and Internozero Prize.

Juan Pablo Zaramella wins the Award for Best Director for Luminaris. The Award for Best Cinematography goes to Bermula Dari A by Bw Purba Negara. Special Mention to The World's Most Beautiful Dictionary by Lisa Takeba.

The ADCI Best Creative Idea Award was given to Richard Garcia's Taboulè by Fabio Ferri, on behalf of advertising creative talents of Italian Art Directors Club. It is a classic Capalbio award, that has been putting into contact best Italian admen and young filmmakers for 10 years.

Stella of Capalbio Award, which takes its name from the founder of Capalbio Cinema, Stella Leonetti, was assigned to Belcim Bilgin, Best Actress in Sessiz / Bè Deng, directed by L. Rezan Yesilbas. Best Actor Award went to Easa Hosseini in Bashe Baraye Baad by Amirhossein Asgari. Members of the jury were the producer Emanuela Piovano, Emma Perrelli of Ministry of Youth, and Truls Kontny producer.

Maps of the World Award 2012 went to Lisa Takeba (The World's Most Beautiful Dictionary), revelation director and author of the best Map of the Competition. The jury that awarded the prize consisted of Giona Nazzaro and Maurizio Di Rienzo critics, and Italo Spinelli from AsiaticaFilmMediale.

Nisida Award, given by students of the Nisida Juvenile Hall (Naples) to the best short went to La mirada perdida of Spanish director Damian Dionisio.

Junior Kids Prize, awarded by 6-11 years old students from Capalbio area, guided by Amerigo Fontani, went to Rising Hope, by Milen Vitanov. Tied for second place, with a special mention, were Sdrvgd't, by Maristella Bonomo and Massimo Piovesana, and Atlas, by Aike Arndt.

Junior Teens Prize (11-18 years) coordinated by director Catherine Mc Gilvray, went to Oh Sheep by Gottfried Mentor. Second prize went to Bear Me by Kasia Wilk. A Special Mention of Jury President Catherine Mc Gilvray went to Midsommernattens Skygge by Stian E. Forgaard and a special mention from kids went to The last hour by Roua Nazar Alazzawi.

Capalbio Cinema, directed by Tommaso Mottola and organized by 3D Association in collaboration with Fondazione Sistema Toscana, was founded by Stella Leonetti in 1994 and had Michelangelo Antonioni as Patron. The Festival is supported by the Ministry of Youth, the Ministry of Culture - Film Dept., Tuscany Region and the City of Capalbio, with the sponsorship of Agiscuola, ADCI, AGPC, ANICA, APT, FICE, SNGCI, and Ministry of Justice.
